Cellular Antennas
In some cases, adding an external cellular antenna directly to your cellular/wireless equipment
(cell phone, laptop modem, or wireless terminal) will improve the signal collected and sent to the device. This is a
"passive system" and will generally work when the original signal is good but needs improvement.
The distance between the external antenna and the device should be very short to minimize signal loss. The
device must be connected directly to the cell antenna cable. If the original signal is low, the
passive system will not improve the signal level.
The objective is to mount the external antenna as high as possible to overcome obstacles such as foliage, terrain
and buildings. This will increase the distance between the external antenna and the cellular device...thereby increasing
the signal loss across the cable and the connections. For this system to work, an amplifier must be placed between the
external antenna and the cellular device...this is referred to as an "active system".

Omni-Mount Magnetic Cell Antenna
This new, passive cellular antenna system will work with your cellular handset and your
wireless modem. Use an antenna adapter cable to connect this cell antenna to your handset or to your laptop air
card. Or, you can connect it directly to your Fixed Wireless Terminal or your wireless external modem. The magnetic-mounted
antenna must be attached to a metal 'ground plane' to be effective (approximately 8" x 8"). Or, if
you can attach it to a window (home, office, vehicle, etc.), the unique suction cup/ground plane mount will work very well.
